Disney Resorts…Which do you choose?

When anyone I know plans a Disney trip, one of the first things I want to know is, “where are you staying?”

I am interested in knowing which kind of resort people choose – value, moderate or deluxe. Personally, we have tried all three types. With that said, I have to add that once I pass through those WDW gates, I don’t care which resort we stay in…all that matters is that I am there. No matter the type, each resort has been wonderful. The rooms are clean and the cast members are helpful. We usually try to mix it up and stay at a different resort each trip. If you do it this way, you have to keep going back because there are so many resorts to choose from.

Some key points on each type in my opinion are…

  • Value – great themes, huge pools and an excellent choice if you spend all of your waking moments in the parks!!
  • Moderate – pools are great with fun slides for the kids
  • Deluxe – you will feel pampered here…these hotels are close to the parks, have awesome pools with even better slides and have amazing restaurants.

Lisa H My name is Lisa and I live in New Jersey. I am married with two
children, a boy and a girl. I have been an elementary school teacher for 17
years, teaching both 3rd grade and kindergarten. I love all things Disney.
As a child, I went to Walt Disney World every year. When my children were 4
and 5, my husband and I took them to WDW for the first time. We’ve been back
every year since.  I love planning Disney trips for my family and I like to tell people that when I retire, I am going to be a Disney Cast Member!!

  1. As a family of five, the only “standard room” we fit into is in the Alligator Bayou section of Port Orleans Riverside. With two queen beds and a murphy bed, we can just barely squeeze into this room! Now that our 3 boys are getting older, we’ll probably try out the family suites at All Star Music on our next trip. I always try to make our Disney trips as budget-friendly as possible, but my dream is to someday stay at the Contemporary!
